I ticked average, because we'll probably get extremes such as a cold, wet month balanced by a warm, dry one. Not to mention parts of NZ having very different weather to others. That's a normal NZ weather season.

This spring sea temperatures are cooler than normal. Currently 16C around Northland to 9c around south Otago. It makes sense that the cooler sea temps will give us a cooler summer, in the north here atleast anyway. I guess east coast areas can have northwesterlies which are less influened by sea temps.

Rainfall will be below normal in the north due to a westerly regime. Westerlies are dry in summer in the north. Wet on the SI West Coast.
Dry in the east. :)

I ticked the cooler and drier.

With the SOI becoming neutral, I think it will be an average summer, but drier and slightly warmer
