It's summer time
there should be no need to be cold
in summer time
we need more sunlight; let's banish the rain
and in our land of New Zealand
some sunshine would give us joy
we want to throw off our winter clothes
But say a prayer
pray for warmer days
this summer time
It's hard when you're stuck inside
there's a world outside your window
and it's a world of cold and wet
where there's too much water flowing
and the bitter sting of hail
and the Christmas bells that ring
will not relieve the cold and gloom
today we'll pray to God it'll get better
sometime soon
and there could be snow in New Zealand this Christmas
the greatest gift this year will be sunshine
when no bad weather ruins where we go
no rain, nor hail nor snow
do they know it's summer time at all?
Here's to you, raise an umbrella for everyone
here's to them, underneath that chilling rain
do they know it's summer time at all?
(Parody of Band-Aid's Do they know it's Christmas time?
Parody - Do they know it's summer time?
