I would say atleast Showery South Easterlies on the way for you Deano and showery Easterlies for Northland, Auckland and Coromandel next week.

its been a cold enough summer, LOL!

surely its been all the southerly quarter winds the last 3 months that has blown/driven the icebergs further north (well at least the oceans currents have been more SW to NE instead of the W to E of the west wind drift it normaly is///

RUBBISH.The recent icebergs were probably caused by the 8.1 earthquake that must of shook the southern icecap.
Look what damage the 8.9 magnitude earthquake did to the Bay of Bengal.
Surely the earthquake off the Auckland islands must of cause some 'breaking of the ice"

but I dont buy an earthquake either....it would have had to have produced a tsnaumi

Attached image shows a nice eye formation in the centre of TC Kerry (taken at 9:25am NZDT). Central pressure was at 960mb at 7:00am NZDT.
