Re: Frost reports 2011
First air frost of the year here and it was -2.2°C at 7:43 ... that's the lowest April temp I've recorded (by 1.1°) in the 10 years I've had a weather station.

No frost here this morning but in my report on my blog, I will have to say "after the non-exisistence of a frost, the day was lovely and fine" , Well it was. A similar day to the 2 days previous.

A light frost here this morning with the temperture dipping below zero(only slightly though) for the first time this month. Should be a good one tonight though.

Funny, I didn't notice any frosts (well no whiteness you could see on the ground) in Hanmer over the weekend, neither Sat or Sun mornings, and there wasn't much cloud.

Re: Frost reports 2011
Were in staying in the town it self? because at this time year the ground, concrete, asphalt is still relatively warm compered to winter ,a town the size of Hanmer would release enough heat to stop any frost in the town but a few kms away would have been a deg or two less.I noticed that over the weekend where there was frost on the grass but bare soil had no frost/ice on it where mid winter that soil would have been.tich wrote:it of a hard case how it can be the other way round sometimes, the other day i had a light one and you didn't, now you had the light frost yesterday while here was a westerly and 9C overnight.

Re: Frost reports 2011
I was staying in the township, but right next to paddocks. Couldn't see any whiteness on the ground either Saturday or Sunday, but could've been a slight frost as it did feel cold at night.

Re: Frost reports 2011
Got down to -1.3°C here this morning - first air frost this May.
I see from my records that we had no frosts at all here last May or in 2002, 2003 and 2007.
