a "monster" over Milan yesterday

Unread post by davide »

28/05/2011 - memorable day!

3 thunderstorms in 24 hours: the first, during the night, but only lots of lightnings and thunders...the second, in the morning: it got darker with the passing of the hours, than street lights on, cars with their lights on, lights on even in homes and offices ---> cloudburst. my manual rain gauge signed 45 mm in 2 hours. this till 12.30 ... than the sun came out, and and immediately new cumulonimbus formed --> short shower: 1.5 mm ... than the sun came out again (time: 16.30) = new energy for a new extrapowerful thunderstorm!! a big comulonimbus formed over milan city, than it extended for kms and kms!!!! the night came on milan... than fog, heavy heavy rain, hail (1-2 cms), strong wind, thunders and lightnings hit the city ---> 85 new mms signed my manual rain gauge in 2-3 hours of storm!! we called it: the monster!
