Solar Eclipse November 25, 2011

Just beginning now, I think.
I view by casting the shadow of a piece of card with a small round hole in it, onto a dark surface - gives a reverse image but clear enough to show the crescent-shape as the moon passes across the sun.

Cloud down here in Invercargill, but through the patches I can tell that the sky was/is a different colour. The average joe wouldn't notice it.

Fine clear sky here this evening. Cant see any moon or half moon or even a quarter moon?

The sun (and since it was an eclipse, the moon too) would have set around 9.15pm down here, so a few minutes earlier up there. As your post was after 10pm there'd be nothing to see :(

Theres a better one 14th of november next year it be a big partial,its total is just NE of auckland a few 100km
