25mm from this southerly system. Perhaps a few light isolated showers to come today but should be ok for the Rugby but chilly. Will be interesting to see how the underfoot conditions are at the stadium.

A fine but cold morning here.
Milder next week with the tasman low, some deep instability is likely over the Northisland.

It's darn cold out there. Have -3 forecast. Could get -4 here I think since we are normally a bit colder.

I was surprised to hear my partners parents farm in taihape was snowed under today. They are only 300m apparently. So the snow was falling quite low.

Skies clearing so it should be a chilly but calm evening for the test at Addington.
I have just been playing alot of Horslips music, so that should give the Irish a good chance against the All Blax
Horslips being a rock band that changed alot of irish music into a rock format in the 1970/1980s [-X

 Nice one John. Well its probably going to be around 0 degrees at kick off and in the negatives come the conclusion. Sitting on 0.9 now. Good news though is it has been dry for a few hours now so hopefully conditions suit for an open game. Dependent on how the turf drains.

Update: Forget the negatives come the end of the game. We are in them now. -0.1

Already down to 3.6°C here! If it stays clear all night, 0 deg is looking very possible...

No new record. Some puffs of wind at times overnight kept sending the temperature back up, so perhaps if it had been calm I would have got under zero

GFS accumulated rainfall chart here for the next 3 days.

Cold upper means a few rumbles thunder for a few places and Taranaki looks a likely spot later tomorrow into Tuesday.

Also a low risk of a waterspout/tornado for Taranaki and Bay of Plenty later tomorrow! The 700mb temps will be fairly chilly which is an indicator for spouts.
