Farm worker told me we had a 3 min hail shower here today. He said it was small hail but only hail and started to build up on the ground.

My average temp for June was 10.6°C, compared to 12.7°C in 2011 and 11.6°C in 2010. Only 72 mm of rain despite a similar number of rain days as previous Junes.Manukau heads obs wrote:I would not have thought it, but June is going to end up being normal for here for temperature

A cooler, drier and sunnier June for Auckland. I see Greylynn had 54.2mm, dry for Auckland.

Re: General June Weather
I don't keep records but I got the impression we had milder than normal maximums and cooler than normal mins in Auckland which would equate to an average mean temperature.

Re: General June Weather
Chch Aero's average June T-min was -0.2C
...(1.2C below normal).
However, Mangere's average T-max and T-min were both below normal (more so the latter), resulting in a T-mean of 11.2C, 0.5C below its 1971-2000 June average (0.6C below its 1981-2010 average).
Mangere has also only recorded about half its normal rainfall, while the airport recorded about 75%. Sunshine well above average though.

Interestingly, Akld Aero's average T-max of 15.3C and T-min of 8.3C were both above its 1971-2000 June averages by 0.3C and 0.1C respectively (+0.1C and -0.1C for 1981-2010 averages).NZstorm wrote:I don't keep records but I got the impression we had milder than normal maximums and cooler than normal mins in Auckland which would equate to an average mean temperature.
