Yes it is very steady out there. Looks like it could stop in the next 30mins as it heads inland to the foothills with the easterly flow.

Heavy solid rain on the radar around the Kaikoura region at the moment that is barely moving.

Back here, could hit 100mm for the week before it is out. Seems to be a chance for a period of rain in the early hours of Thursday.

Rain stopped here now. Cleared on radar as it moves inland. Got another 16mm out of that lot. So total now at 87mm for the system.

Yeah rainband fairly short lived i thought it might go on for abit longer than it has, but certainly cant complain unless you have paddocks under water etc.
14mm since 2pm totaling to 67mm for the event since 8am Sunday and 105mm in the last 2.5 weeks combined, sure has been a wet spell.
Another belt of rain Sunday but brief from the north and then another southerly onslaught next week could see some cold air up eastern regions and low level snow, abit far out yet though lets dry up first .

Drizzle worked its way back in overnight at times. 2mm more. 89mm for system. Looks like its cleared now but some scrappy stuff working its way down from the north again which could push drizzly showers into the city a little later perhaps.

Yes it will be because it was looking so dry a few weeks ago and also the fact there's been no frosts for two and half weeks now means some very early grass growth so far

Yep, no frosts here for August so far very unusual. Noticed the lawn has gone from that Yellow/brown colour to a very lush green.

Plenty of blue sky and sunshine here now. Currently 10 degrees which feels rather warm with the very high humidity.

Drove across the Opihi river an hour ago and its very dirty but not overly high.
