Taken off weather watch.
Does this mean that the 50.3 was recorded on a different day after the record day of 50.7 ??

[quote] Moomba's 49.6 degrees is also the highest temperature recorded in SA since Oodnadatta reached 50.3 degrees in January 1960.

Australia's record is held by Oodnadatta, 50.7 degrees, also in January 1960

It's a kind of weird statement to make but yes, Oodnadatta Aero recorded Australia's highest ever temp of 50.7C on Jan 2, 1960. The 50.3C was recorded the following day.

BoM had 46.4C at Sydney Airport at 2:32pm LT, which smashes its all time record of 45.2C set on Jan 1, 2006, since records began in 1939.

And 45.8C at Ob Hill at 2:55pm LT, which also beats its all time record of 45.3C set on Jan 14, 1939, since records began in 1859.
