Snow has stopped now, perhaps 1 1/2 inches outside. Some rain now so will get slushy I'd say.

The rain bands have been moving very west to east. Still just a few spots here. Rather boring really.

Re: Low looks like bringing wet couple of days from Queens Bday.
Thanks Steven, that's the name of it!
Had a look outside and wondering, might've only really been 1 inch at most here or perhaps 2cm to be realistic. I was mentioning what I did above by looking out the window. Would've taken more photo's but the whip is being cracked to get work done out here by my mum and her partner! lol.
Still, pretty cool! Was going to take a drive round to Stavely and get a bit higher but is getting dark now so might tomorrow morning.

Re: Low looks like bringing wet couple of days from Queens Bday.
I thought I was seeing sleet between about Birdlings Flat and Halswell about 5-5.30pm, but probably just cold raindrops as temps have been about 6-7C in Chch about this time. (was raining at Hilltop at about 475m)

That's true, could just keep driving up the back here. Was thinking more up behind Staveley though where it climbs up a bit within a short space. To the start of that ice rink thing sort've up the back there.Deano wrote:Mt Somers is higher than Staveley, best to head up the gorge road.

True...base of Mt Hutt was always a fav of mine at around 500 metres or up to the toll gate at 700 metres,if that failed I would drive up to Scotts saddle at around 1000 metres.Thunder wrote:That's true, could just keep driving up the back here.
