Did BOM forecast possible tornadoes?
they did, in the severe thunderstorm outlooks/warnings
but not sure if that was after of before the first one?

Some waterspout/tornado activity on the New South Wales coast at the weekend. EF2 rating.
Just damage pics as the event occurred early morning Sunday.

500mb output from the gfs for late Thursday. Quite a potent upper level system with the jet stream 70kts to 500mb. Negative tilt as well.

Probably one of the best tornado footage pieces ever from Australia!
Drivers were very lucky with their poor hazard track judgements, lol.
