Check out this fantastic photo of some Ash Cloud lightning which came from Eyjafjallajökull in 2010: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120730.html

Amazing shot!
It will interesting to see when the Blitzortung Networks expands worldwide to see data coming in from ash clouds and how they compare to Cumuli forms of lightning.
