No thunderstorms this afternoon (nor any precipitation for that matter) that I've witnessed. (I went from Chch to Banks Peninsula about midafternoon) It's just been cloudy; initially with high cloud, but lower cloud crept in following the change to cooler (dropped from mid 20s to high teens) southerlies or southwesterlies.

Looks like a Thunderstorm out to my east  a really black convergence line has formed and is coming in from the east took some pics even tough it's in the distance.

May not be a TS but it did certainly look like one but iam guessing it has some heavy rain in it.
Yes Spwill I did notice that and there is some activity to the S-SW of me but only small we shall see what the night brings.
Tomorrow is forecast for showers becoming more freqeunt with heavy showers on BsP and some hail which is the cold front coming in.
cheers

looking at the rain radar, the city missed it all
Helensville got 13mm, waiuku got 11mm, but our farm only got 7mm (there was holes in the system!)

the white in the photo is rain...you can see it in front of some distant trees

it has been a more traditional dry since easy january here....last 6 summers or so have only seen short dry periods

maybe this front might hang around a bit and come back on an easterly if the high comes in quick....
