If you think its better suited to Weather Abroad move it over if you want.
I think using the term 'snow event in Egypt' is better than 'massive snow events in Cairo' as the snowfalls were mainly confined to the higher areas of Egypt,less so in Cairo.
To me it makes senses that the ever increasing fragmentation of the jet streams will increasingly mean greater extremes and intensities of the worlds weather systems.

As previously mentioned in another thread, recent media reports appear to have mistaken small, soft hail in Cairo for snow. It did however snow in St Catherine, Sinai, but that's at about 1,600m asl.
