My all-sky camera got some nice images. Anyone else see it before the moonrise?

Yes, drove out near Lake Ellesmere as it was getting dark - clouds were clearing and rays were easily visible to the naked eye but I couldn't see any colour.

I went out with Tilly Crowther (can't remember her username on here) to Embankment Rd, near the water line, and we did see some pink to the naked eye at the top of the aurora. :D

Aaron and Tilly are working on it. ;)
But I'm waiting to see if a japanese guy in Queenstown took some shots, he always does and unless his skies were covered I expect even more fantastic material from him !

Barely a cloud to be seen here, and the sky looked okay in his direction, so hopefully he got something too. They'd have to be insanely great to top your pics, or Steven's.

There are some skilled astrophotographers in this country, and their skills with editing software can make all the difference in getting that "wow factor".

My skill is in somehow always managing to obscure at least half the FoV with a thumb, even when I'm not actually holding the camera.

Good job on the time-lapse ! I was gonna shoot one but I couldn't take photos, help Tilly with her 70D and try to set things up for a time lapse …

Activity levels are much higher than yesterday right now, if the skies are clear we could be on for an even better show !

It's kind of clear here but I've yet see much of anything going on to the south.

Yep nothing to be seen here either … no idea why … the clouds made it difficult but not impossible to get shots, but nothing nothing nothing. And activity level is still high *scratches head* :?:

I've just been reviewing my ASC images and can see definite activity quite late in the piece tonight, the clearest frame of it being captured around 23:42, although the high cloud layer is obscuring a lot.

Dang.

BTW, I sent you a PM, earlier.

Heh, yeah. I can't wait for the wife to haul the kids off to school later so I can finally get some sleep.
