I am about to put this up on Trademe in the next few days, if anyone on here is interested and wants to make an offer before it gets listed, feel free.

MetOne Northwest weather station

This is a professional weather station. Not intended for home use, this is a research grade set up. Please don’t bid unless you know how to work with sensors and dataloggers. You might like to Google some of the items below to get an idea of what you will be working with.

It must be 20 years old, was imported from the US about 15 years ago after being decommissioned there. It was never set up and used here. It is in good used condition. It consists of:
Campbell Scientific CR10 datalogger, storage module, and keyboard programmer.
Campbell Scientific RS-232 interface, plus an additional interface
A non-original CD with Campbells PC208W software on it, the software manual, and the CR10 manual
Wiring panel to connect the sensors, plus cabling. I don’t know if all the cabling needed is there, but it looks like it.
Weatherproof box to house the electronics
MetOne Tipping bucket rain gauge
MetOne Wind speed and wind direction sensors (cup anemometer) , the direction vane has snapped at some point and been repaired, still works 100%
MetOne temperature sensor in radiation shield
Barometeric pressure sensor

Note that this will need to be used with an older model PC with an RS232 interface.

I don’t know if this is working or not, so please treat it as being in “as is, where is” condition. Scottech are the local New Zealand agents for Campbell Scientific gear, so may be able to help you with advice or back up.

Pickup from North Canterbury, or I can drop off in or around the Chch area by arrangement.

It will be heavy and bulky to send by post, so please expect the postage cost to be around $100 (yet to be determined by location of winner).

$1 reserve as I have no idea what its worth, or if anyone will want it, and its taking up space in my garage! No buy now. Any questions please ask.

If I bid on it and win, would you be ok hanging on to it for me until late October when I have my next excursion down South?

Yes, could do. I'll be listing it probably tomorrow or Wednesday.
