Various weather memories

Unread post by Michael »

Never forget the shocker of a winter 1985 was when I moved this way from Wanganui, the weather was such a shocker after what I was accustomed too,the horizontal rain and wind day after day that was new to me,yes it did there but wasn't for months seemingly on end, never forget that one at the time Bryan adams released summer of 69,used to call it the winter of 85 and can remember all those winters afterwards though 87 didn't seem as bad as the previous two,but 88 was a wet one.

I have vivid memories of a great thunderstorm here in Tauranga on Christmas Eve 1972.

Mind you, it pales in comparison to other storms I've seen elsewhere, South Alligator NT in 2011 was spectacular, 3 very active cells right around Steven, Willoughby and Myself was hard to beat. I simply didn't know which way to look.
