Here on West Maui ( Kannapali) the current weather is sunny and 28C, a mod to fresh easterly, dewpoint around 18C.
A trade wind weather pattern here this week= partly cloudy weather, isolated light showers, breezy and warm.
I see the long term average min temp for June here is 19.8C, ave max 30.2C, rainfall only 2mm.
El Nino affects on Hawaii are increased Hurricane season, drought in winter, more big surf events. Sea swell from the NZ region can reach here.

Re: A weather report from Maui
A weakening trade wind pattern here last day of two makes for a hotter feel to the weather.
This time of year the Islands weather is controlled by an area of high pressure to the NE of Hawaii with a generally stable easterly across the region. Showers in the flow catch mainly the windward side of the Island and the Mnts . West Maui is very sheltered, the town of Lahaina a few km down the road has a Summer rainfall average of just 12.7mm, annual average of 371.7mm.

Re: A weather report from Maui
My memory of visiting Hawaii way back in March 1990 was how hot and humid it was stepping out from the highly air conditioned terminal at the main airport in Honolulu. Back in the UK we did not have such luxuries and it was a bit of a culture shock when visiting America to find how cold the buildings were when it was 90*F outside.

Re: A weather report from Maui
US people visit Hawaii in Summer from the mainland for the cooler climate
the likes of Phoenix has an average max of atleast 100F from June to September.
I found the last few days in Maui hot as the winds fell light and humidity lifted, back into NZ Winter today.
