NIWA said the month was 0.7C above normal temperature wise. That made it the 8th consecutive warmer than normal May for NZ.

BTW, I've just watched the TV1 program Are You Normal? Well let's replace the people in it with individual months of recent years and make the subject weather - I don't think any month will come out 'normal'.
