No sorry Brian, I ve only got the boring 'peasant' ones like metvuw and all that...and even that one now is always about 30 to 35 mins late every 3 hours.
Almost seems worth getting sky digital installed just for the weather component. I think thats updated quite regularly....
weather has gone a bit michael now, and even brendon on tv1 today said that...
" two weather systems will be coming together 2moro to produce michael weather initialy down south and then michael weather later on the north. In fact i'm putting a moderate to severe michael warning out to the whole country" and then he said "Over to you Jude"

Yup the weatherzone site has very good access to the brand-spanking new JMA MTSAT-1R. MetService for some reason continue to do 3 hour satelites updates. The new satellite can view low cloud and fog where previous satellites left forecasters wondering.

i am from now using that image for that link i have posted
and set it to download it very hour (using weather display to do the animation)
Awesome! It's the same map Sky News/Prime news uses, a better animation i believe than TV one's and TV 3's Which (prime) uses roughly a set of 12 images which is a bit short but it has a good speed to it.
I sound like a freak lol

Using my TV Card frrom DSE, $80 or so. I just used the RCA cables, then I captured it every 15 mins and ran it through ImageReady. Surely someone can hack the system and free, 15min updates for all?
Come on, we own the Dopplers too!

cool, cables from your sky box i presume...good stuff
i have one of those tv tuners, but when i went from win98 to w2k, there was no drivers for it....
weather display can actualy handle a tv tuner.,...(but i would need to enable that function (part of the web cam capture component) and then could save the images auto time stamped and then create an animated gif and upload it, all automaticly...and it can run stationless

11.15 rain radar shows 'very heavy' rain west of the Waitakare ranges from about Muriwai to Waiuku near Pukekohe.
Should make it's way down here hopefully
Wind has already turned southerly here, but I guess it has been southeasterly all day here.
Brian, retrieving the rain radar image requires a manual download, if you know what I mean
Strong cold front we've been waiting for is due Thursday morning, bringing widespread heavy rain to the west of both islands. Shouldn't be heavy north of the Waikato however.
Very strong Northwesterlies developing also everywhere in the NI ahead of the front. Northerly though north of Waikato. Strong easterlies about the Nelson region likely.
