Good white frost here this morning with the camelia trees covered in frost.
Down to minus 3.2C but much colder on the ground.
NW cloud cover didn't move away until after lunch so temperatures were very slow to rise.

I can confirm no frost here in the CBD as such, Jeffs in Hillmorton was 0.8c at 7.40am as the lowest (up to 1.5c now)

Yes and amazingly it was 8C in opawa at 6am yesturday dispite it being - 4 in Rangiora only 30km away.

There was frost in Halswell around midnight that was gone by dawn so it warmed significantly in the wee small hours

The frost a couple days ago has done a good job of burning new shoots of grass. Was -3, so not exceptionally low, so I am a bit surprised to see the burning.

Looks like there was a frost overnight as the thermometer dropped down to minus 0.8C.

Cloud and rain cleared away overnight to become fine and frosty this morning.
Interestingly, the frost was quite quick to disappear.
Down to minus 1.9C.
