Re: General June Weather
Definitely cold for nighttime temperatures in Chch with frosts pretty much every day from mid-month and increasingly heavy towards the end. Beautiful weather after the events of the first week with almost the entire month's rain coming from the storm of the 1st/2nd. Speaking of which NIWA's rain total posted above is less than half of what came in that storm, MS at Chch Aero have 75mm and did confirm over 100mm for parts of the city on Twitter. Granted there was a good deal of variation in the heaviest falls.

Re: General June Weather
I believe the heaviest rains from that event fell from late on the night of May 31st to about midday on June 1st at Chch Aero. Because NIWA use the same climatological 24 hour 9am reset time that many other countries use, most of that event's rainfall would have been included in their May total.Chris W wrote: Tue 02/07/2019 09:51 Definitely cold for nighttime temperatures in Chch with frosts pretty much every day from mid-month and increasingly heavy towards the end. P.S. Total of 90mm for that event at Chch Aero if May 31st is included.
