Who else relies upon good weather to be productive in their daily lives but always wishes we have constant action weather (of a sub-Katrina level only please)?
I am in the landscape industry as well (mainly paving installtion) and wet weather can be highly disruptive. I always have to have an eye on the sky. Being self employed though, means I can chase weather when I like.
I enjoy the spectacle of hail, thunder, snow etc, but not when I'm working outdoors. Though the threat of rain can be a good incentive to work harder, so the job can be done before it hits. I travel by bike wherever convenient - again I don't enjoy cycling in driving rain or (even worse) hail, especially when going into the wind.
I don't have a clothes drier, so when I do the washing I prefer sunny weather with at least a bit of a breeze, especially in the colder months. Today's low cloud in Chch wasn't the best weather for drying clothes, though the wind compensated a little for the lack of sun.
I like fine sunny weather (Hence the opposite to the NZTS, the NZAAA) but not all the time.
I get annoyed when a lovely fine day is ruined by a cold ENE wind blowing.
A fine warm day with a NW blowing can affect the positive ion levels in the air and makes one tired, whatever.
As for me, love catching the fog when cycling, wind aint so bad if it's behind you (last week it's been the opposite to what i'm used to).
Like biking in heavy rain, something wicked about it
There's something nice about overcast still days, like today, thunderstorms top it off though and viewable convection, as seen not so long ago on the 25th of August, top stuff.. literally!
