It wouldn't create much updraft at all since it's southwest of Raglan Harbour and sticks out to sea somewhat. Pirongia wouldn't either.
But the Whatawhata Hilllands would NW of here. High evapotranspiration rates are apparent all over basin Waikato, especially Hauraki where it's swampiest.
-Would be storm chaser's paradise over North Waikato, hilly in the west for convection then vast flat land to chase, confronted by the Coromandel/Kaimai Ranges in the east ready for orographic thunderstorms
