12mm already and it's raining again this evening. (eased off for a while late afternoon) It arrived just after midday (a few spits for about an hour earlier) out on Banks Peninsula, but was quite heavy for a while there, and must've been heavy in Chch as well - 5mm in hour at Hillmorton, and the Avon was high when I got back late afternoon.

Well might not of been able to get my 27mm of rain only 13.6mm here BUT :D I knew there was gonna be an earthquake within the next few days and there was only small one 3.1 richter scale last night at 11:25pm I didnt feel it but many CHCH peoples did another one followed a 2.9 quake centred 10km east of Kaiapoi at half 11 didnt feel that either.
How did i know was because there had been a big quake In Pakistan 7.6 on the richter scale being so big i had a fair idea it would shake the earths plates abit and of course knowing how fragile they are.
A report was actuallt realeased about 2 months ago on Qaukes in New Zealand realesed out by EQC which had stuff about saftey etc and also mentioned risk prone qauke areas.
Wellington was at the top with 90% risk of qauke in next 10 years
Christchurch follwed next with 78% risk of quake in next 25 years
then Fiordland,Westlandand Mt Ruapahue area followed for a 60% chance in next 40 years and others came after that.
But like we say how can we predict Quakes you cant really it just happens and within seconds or mintutes.
Cheers
JASON.
