A generally overcast, grey, 8/8th Ns day with occasional rain or drizzle showers and light southerly winds.
An inch of rain today in the old scale (25.1mm)
Only 14.4C for today which was recorded in the very early hours of this morning.

22mm of rain so far since yesterday morning, another 10 would be the ideal as things were drying out

Drove through some heavy showers over SE Auckland yesterday afternoon, they formed on the NW wind change, a couple of photos.

The thunderstorm risk increases over the North Island tomorrow Tuesday with cooling upper levels. Plenty of sunshine tomorrow as well to increase instability.

Interesting looking isolated storm to the north of Auckland. Just had the severe thunderstorm warning on it via email.

It was probably a lovely fine and sunny day with some high cloud above the grey and 'eggy' day, I mean 'aggy' day here today which covered the region here for today. See Tony's posting on "I SEE"
Overnight rain and rain this evening contributed to 12.7mm .
Light winds from the easterly quarter.
Possibly the same "claggy" weather here tomorrow

I’ve seen some photos on Facebook of hail about 10mm in diameter. Lots of hail accumulations on roadsides too.

Got friends walking the Paparoa Track, looks like they are about to get smashed as well.

Up to 50mm now.

This weekend and Friday looking like storms again for inland areas of both islands

Up north for Christmas so the thunderstorm activity will be in the South Island, probably.
Back in the new year.
Yes a lot of moisture around here in the last couple of days making the flowers in the garden looking droopy.
