Low cloud overnight lifting during the morning but remaining rather cloudy and mild for the rest of the day and humid.
Warm with 23.2C for today.
Some light rain/drizzle later this afternoon.

Dunedin has a Metservice active heat alert today. We're expecting 29˚C today. Mosgiel will be hotter with 31 predicted. We could really do with some rain, Mosgiel has water restrictions now, and all the grass has turned yellow with weeks of very little rain.

Metservice has Christchurch City at 32c currently. Was only forecast for 29c today but its extremely hot out with a moderate northerly

The temperature rocketed from 23C to 29C within half an hour this morning once the sun came out.
Also a very short heavy shower before 5pm, and I see more showers forming on the current radar.
Tomorrow should be around 33C but I'm seeing around 35C for Saturday possibly 36C for areas around Banks Peninsula. Upper air is -8C along with very warm surface temperatures.
Maybe some more spill over rain Sunday for Otautahi, but seems to be mid next week for abit of a cool off and some welcome rainfall.

A warm day with various amounts of high cloud in a N to NW sort of sky. Cloud keeping the sun at bay otherwise it would of got to about 30C.
Today's maximum here was 26.4C. Light winds from the north, more NW this evening.
NW Arch later this afternoon into the evening with a nice sunset.

For the first time this summer heard cicadas, racketing away in tall trees in the Ashburton Domain and elsewhere.

Temperature dropped to 22C overnight with light to steady rain showers on and off, enough for 1-2mm.
Temperature has been hovering around 30C for awhile in-between the clouds, but is starting to go up with 31C now.

Was lucky enough to be able to go to the Ed Sheeran concert in Wellington last night. Amazing concert and the weather played ball perfectly. VERY mild with high cloud and only 2 noticeable puffs of wind (if you could call them that) during the whole concert. Walking back to the car post the show we were ALL complaining about how hot and muggy it was for 10:45pm! 21 deg when we got home and 18 deg dew point.
If you are in Auckland, and can get tickets, and Eden "lake" dries out for the concert to go ahead, I would highly recommend going along.

A fine and warm day today with the maximum getting up to 33.4C here this afternoon.
There was the occasional cloud and later this afternoon/evening some castellated form towards the west along the foothill especially to the south of here. Light variable winds.
