NIWA confirmation of these huge numbers. It's been an insane time for you poor folk up north.
Yes, that's from the Northland Regional Council's Hakaru at Tara gauge that ScottyD posted last night.
378mm of that 381mm fell in less than 12 hours, with 253mm in just 3 hours...

A fine day after a cold night, down to 3.6C, the day was mainly fine with some scattered cloud this afternoon and moderate NE breezes easing this evening. 21C for today the maximum. Still a bit of snow, today, on the top of Mt. Peel from Wednesday.

Running 0.8C below my February average temp this month. And with 3 days to go it looks possible we won’t hit 26C for the entire month (which would be a first for February in my records).
After looking threatening it all amounted to a few drops here. Storms looked pretty heavy further north for a while there I hope there haven't been too many more problems.
A mainly fine day with some cloud and easterly sea breezes. 23.2C for today. More cloud layers inland later this afternoon and evening.
Some pyrocumulus clouds developing from burn offs today. The photo is from a burn off near St. Andrews.
