Frost tender plants are handle autumn frost better than in spring, and yes Ipomoea batatas are very frost tender, yacon, pumpkins and potatoes are another

Apparently that Twizel area was a colder in the days before lake Benmore, the lake created a lot more fog keeping it the temps higher.

We have only had ice on the car three times this year, today being one and its almost June! Having recently moved to Prebbleton I don't have any local knowledge, but it does seem pretty low.
