Re: Windy
Simular winds to yesterday here if not slightly stronger, gusts up to around 65-70kmh.
The mid week system still looking significant, the low in the southern ocean is predicted to be 940hpa. So it will be dragging that warm air right across the Tasman.

Re: Windy
Interesting to see maximum gusts of wind for today, Monday the 2nd of October?
Geraldine is usually sheltered by the wind but there were one or two powerful NW gusts came through this afternoon.
It can be calm or a light breeze here, when the Levels/RPA AWS station can show a strong NW or west and a SW or southerly breeze.

Re: Windy
I was at Sugar Loaf during the strong NW winds early afternoon on the 2nd of October. Winds were 60 - 90km/h sustained and the highest gust I got on my handheld was 118km/h

Re: Windy
Quite a number of go arounds at Wellington Airport today. Issue was with the up to 15 knot crosswinds (I have a scanner so can listen to the Air Traffic Control Tower as they chat to the planes on approach).
A couple of videos I managed to get of VERY last-minute aborts that I had posted to "twitter"
earlier.
Chch to Wellington A320 (diverted to Auckland after 2 attempts):

Singapore Airlines into CHC this morning was struck by lightning and the return leg was cancelled. Engineers still working to fix the aircraft now.BeaconHill wrote: Thu 26/10/2023 17:29 Quite a number of go arounds at Wellington Airport today. Re: Windy
Interestingly windy here today with the SW.
A bit of a SW here today, nothing much to 'write home about' but driving to Timaru early this afternoon, the SW was quite gusty at times and returning home there was not much wind at all. We can be a bit of a sheltered spot here.
