Around 38mm so far over the last two weeks, so as Jase pointed out, its starting to help terms of soil moisture levels.

The wee low out off the Canterbury coast is looking quite neat atm

18.2mm yesterday and 0.8mm so far today, which brings the monthly total up to 60mm of rain for June now
Another 8mm of rain and we reach our June average, though there’s nothing indicating we will reach that in the next week.

From yesterday :
We had 10mm more rain overnight but it had eased off by dawn. A grey overcast morning but in the afternoon it started to clear with it becoming sunny later this afternoon, however it did cloud up this evening with some drizzle around 10pm. 10.5C for today. Calm day with no wind.

June rainfall in Christchurch is up to 73.8mm at the airport, following hours of consistent rainfall overnight, which is above the average of 68mm (though MetService has 65.7mm as average) for June, making the month the first wetter than average month of the year
Around the east of the city, we have probably seen up to about 80mm so far this month

Our coldest morning of the month here this morning, the month has been frost free.
I see some cold weather will affect NZ for the start of July.

Don't like the look of next WE. Could be more rain and wind for East Cape Gisborne and Hawkes Bay, at the moment. #-o

After a frosty start, it remained a rather cold day with the cold air trapped under the NW cloud covered sky which developed after the Matariki sunrise.
Weak NW Arch later in the day with a NW sky at sunset. Only 7.6C for today with hardly any wind.

John, correct me if I am wrong, but your coldest days generally seem to be around this time of the year - when you have the shortest days + longest nights. What is the coldest day you have recorded in Geraldine in terms of the day maximum?

This year so far was 6.1C on June the 13th. For other years since we have been here I will have to consult my diaries as all my records are recorded written down in them.
...anyway today was a bright and sunny day with 12.9C recorded. There wasn't quite a frost this morning.

Not looking likely now, that's why I say "at the moment" as what I get from model predictions, there is a very much a likely change as we forcome to the event actually happening.

Unlike the the previous month, a lack of southerlies and more moisture from the north kept overall June temps well above normal and wetter than normal for northern and eastern parts of of both islands, particularly around the North Island's East Coast.

According to the NIWA summaries, June's average temp was 9.9C for NZ, while May was 9.8. While only a 0.1C difference, it must still be unusual for June to be warmer than May.
