The BOM ENSO outlook,
http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso/outlook/ maybe a weak La Nina.

ENSO more likely to remain in the neutral range according to the BoM's own model.
And of the six other models it surveys, only GFS and UKMO show a slight chance of meeting or exceeding La Nina thresholds this summer.

I would say an important thing to note when referencing BOM with ENSO, is that they require 0.8 degrees anomalies to call La Niña / El Niño, while NOAA and most other international agencies that keep track of it, they require 0.5 degrees anomalies to call La Niña / El Niño, so it would be important to realise that difference when using BOM’s outlook.

Warm day here with today's maximum being 29.5C. NW sky but rather hazy with not much wind for much of the day until this evening when the westerly freshoned a bit before the southerly or SE came through at 8:40pm with the associated low cloud or clagg and a lowering of temperature. Strong at first but then gradually eased off during the evening. No rain or drizzle with the change according to MS newly revamped Rakaia rain radar.

Had a 2 min shower at 5.30am that didnt show on the new radar.

No rain over the next 4 days. November total is currently 24mm for Chch city. Temperatures won't get as warm as yesterday but should hover between 17c and 24c over the rest of the test match.

Oh, it's back! I hope by "upgrade" that it doesn't stop it picking up the bugs on the southerly changes since that's a nifty feature.

Cloudy conditions for much of the day although it was fine and clear over Timaru and coastal areas with a keen easterly blowing.
Clouding over again this evening with winds dying away. 18.4CC the maximum for today.
