I'm game....and maybe we could head out to Raglan, can catch the CB's that always seem to slam into there in this sort of weather pattern!
(maybe I should bring my surf board too, LOL)

interesting
we just had another heavy shower.....and again the weather station reported a high windspeed....but this time I was here....but it was not windy....
so heavy rain is causing a false windspeed reading!
hummmm!
maybe its a water short or similar....

Ok so who's going all together? Is it possible you guys pick me up enroute to wherever, e.g Raglan? Or will the car be full?
It's best you guys get away from Auckland asap, because most of the instablity looks as if it will fall due around 11am.
11.30 is too late I think in Bombay.

I suggest you enter Hamilton via SH1B - the turn-off's at Taupiri, to bypass awful xmas traffic at Te Rapa.
If you follow that into Hamilton on Tramway Road, you are virtually in Hamilton East already. I will PM Brian exact directions.
Partly cloudy here, 19c with a northwest breeze.
CAPE is high for the upper NI, and if temps rise to 22-23c we should be getting lifted indicies of -4 to -3
