Now if you lived near me I could fix your rain fade issue for about $150 with a new larger dish.

It suffers from it even worse! What I'd do is move slightly and then use the internet dish 4 TV and provide a decent sized dish for the Internet :)

Much more pleasant in Chch this morning, a cool 15 degrees.i don't believe we had any drizzle or light rain overnight which is much needed after yesterdays bake!

Looking at the January figures from Chch Airport....31.8mm of rain,a high of 32 and a low for the month of just 3 degrees(a reasonable variation!)

Still hot 'n' dry here... No wind at all...

I see on the TV news this morning that Wellington had a good thunder storm last night... Some dude took a great pic of forked lightening and it made the news... 8)

A strong blustery NE wind here atm up to 40kmh at times fine with 22.1C.
Forecast is for showers or rain developing according to MS :? must be the rain coming down from the north even so the rain radar's don't show much of this.
Cheers
Jason.

High cloud building here with a gusty sea breeze and I've recorded a max 21.4 - will probably drop if this cloud gets much thicker.

I had the nor'easter at times gusting as high as 70 kph, really quite gusty at times...

The low cloud is beginning to lurk again and the M/S suggest a few showers popping up this evening and again late tomorrow morning with a sou'west change

Yeh Weathermad although i didn't think it gusted that high i only got up to 55kmh gusts here just enough to break those willow small twig branches that are easy to break.
Few small Cumulus out there now so showers might be likly 2night.
Tomorrow however should see showers with a SW change some possibly heavy chances of thunder remain low.
Can't see much happening on saturday thunderwise although according to one news weather thunderstorms in the east. :?
Cheers

Mostly sunny today but some large Cu is billowing up and outwards.. odd shower possible, baro is quite low at 1004mb.. A welcome return to the southwesterlies and 27c/20c.

The monsoonal trough across Northern Australia has eased.. and the southern oceans are set to fire up a few cold fronts for us.. though that depends if the upcoming couple of HP cells aren't going to be blocking? :-k

That's interesting Gary, as my folks were in Wanaka and said the same thing and it cooled pretty quickly when the hail started to fall...They have some good pics on TV One regarding overhead conditions in Wanaka today

No rapid temp change here, just a gradual drop over a couple of hours.
