The North Island's Turn, At Last!
Lots of good Action Weather going on there. Foggy was right, we need more central NI people on the forum. Any of you northerners going in for the 'chase'?

talked to the inlaws, snow on the ground in the hills around Wanganui yesterday afternoon
Turangi no snow, sheltered by the kaimanawas....and probably a slight fohn warming there too
edit, i see Ricky has temperature of only 5.3oC now after that rain....wow, might be sleet at the top of the sky tower!

Yeah. I agree, pretty unusual. I can swear I am hearing the odd hail stone fall outside. Hey, how high is Rangitoto? Wouldn't that just be a picture, 'Snow on Rangitoto'spwill wrote:Yes, you an see the solid precip (snow) high in our skies this morning.
Overcast/showers with 6C in Ak, very unusual, normally associate those temps with a fine morning.

In June and July 1980 there was snow in the hills north of Wanganui

can see the bombay hills as its clearing also clear to the far south

raining here now, wind gone more SE, was S...7oC, but might drop with the rain...
could be sleet on the top of the bombay hills falling? (1000 ft)
