Hailing in many parts of North Island today, eg Rotorua, Tauranga, and Napier. Was snowing this morning for a time in Stratford, Taranaki. (which is only about 300m asl I believe)Had a couple of big hail storms up here in the Waitakeres this afternoon so far too. Very squally
Passing rain showers in central Chch (a little sleet earlier in afternoon); I guess the flow's swung a little more directly to the south, pushing the showers that were previously affecting only BP, into the city.

An ok day today here, more sunshine then anything els.I woke up to around a half a cm of snow on my car but before ya no it, it was gone
I would of loved to have more of course but oh well.
had a we bit of a snow shower come through around 1.30pm.Follwed by a pretty decent hail shower.
Port hills look as though they have got a good 10cm on the tops there too

Got pelted by heavy sleety graupel this afternoon twice.
Interesting because I thought it was clearing.
Also nice heavy sleet shower on the way home very close to snow.
Still a few lonesome showers out there but not as widespread now.
Gonna be a coldy tonight into the negatives for sure.
Cheers
Jason.
