Rain has been constant here in Upper Hutt since Saturday evening. My WX station is currently recording over 60mm with 24.2mm today since 9am (backed by my manual guages) Strong southerly along the Petone foreshore this afternoon ( I had lunch there) with a rough sea and very blustery conditions. I see a few localised slips int he WLG region and some flights cancelled out of WLG airport today.

Here at Turakina (Wanganui), Rain/drizzle constant since Saturday, 115mm total with 40mm today. SW gales reaching 100km. Wanganui airport diverted last flight to Palmerston Nth. Very cold outside with windchill 4 C
