Dam, now I'm the only one with a camera that's starting to get a bit old. The old Nikon 5700 still seems to do the job but is getting on a bit, so many things and projects to do though so can't be spending everything! Sometime next year I'll get a new camera definately though.
Nice Lab you've got there, and cool pic of the duck! lol.
I'm thinking of buying a 400D, my 300D is too slow for day time lightning shots, I missed a lot of Lightning in USA. You need to be able to shot continuously( shutter speed about 2 secs). Much better than Video stills I think as they capture more.
Foggy, I took the lightning photos the other night with a Canon 400D. They were taken on a 2 second exposure. Excellent camera and well worth the money.

Quick question about those lightning shots NZstorm. They appeared blurred or out of focus, why was that? Were you using a tripod?

It is possible that the rain falling between NZstorm and the lightning has made things blurred although I haven't had lightning photo's blurred by rain. Only clouds.
Point Taken Fujiti Phil, sorry. Oh well, it works for now. But agrhh, a new cam would be nice. Just got quite a few projects on the go.
Yes, pity about the blurring. It is from camera shake in the wind. My set up wasn't sturdy enough. There was nothing wrong with the focus and the lightning looks good, just the landscape. I put the pictures through photoshop and they scrubbed up quite well. Example below. The boat was moving.
