Canterbury Weather Watchers

Unread post by NZ Thunderstorm Soc »

As the weather has been interesting of late I would like to call the first meeting of the CWW for the Wednesday 10th of March here at the headquarters of the New Zealand Thunderstorm Society at 90 Selwyn Street in Somerfield Christcurch
Meet from 7:30pm.
If this date dosen't the majority of people suit I'm quite willing to change.

Any out of town members on this forum are welcome to attend

Yes Aaron told me you were one of his school mates.
Ive posted out invitations to the CCC, Geog dept at the University,MetService plus there are a few 'phone calls I have to make.
I plan the meet to be quite informal, in true NZTS fashion, but I want this to be an establishment of other weather meetings and not clashing with the MetSoc meets for this year ( That's why I thort a Wednesday night be more appropriate!)

Will be there John.

Man I got to get that last report for that saturday night lightning storm up in Feb, I've just been to busy, will get to soon and do it.

Now editied (12:30pm) : Just thought I might add, a very nice day here in Chch with sun and no wind (that I know of), latest metvuw temp readings at 10am say 20 C but I suspect it has gone over that a bit by now. But that NE could pick up though which I fear!

Thanks to the members of this forum who attended the recent CWW meet.
Good to put faces to names.
Any ideas for future meets?

Bob Crowder would be keen to have a slide evening at his house. :D

Clarrie Hodgson and his amazing weather recollections over the years.
Amazing guy. 83 years old and he has a tale to tell :)

Maybe a meet at Steven Grahams and showing us views through his telescope ???? :-s

any suggstions welcome
