I agree in the last image it has moved more to the south. I animated the past 10 images and hypnotised myself watching it over and over and over

Blowing about 35-40 knots from approx nne in town. raining for 2 hours-not too heavy-boring- sat pics look exciting!!

It looks to me like the center of Ivy will pass to the East of NZ but it will be close enough to impact on our weather.
Should get big swells coming into Auckland harbour. I drove down Tamaki Drive this afternoon and the harbour looked very rough even now with lots of white tops +waves and a yacht half sunk at Orakie. Rained all day here with the odd strong gust of wind.

Yes I agree.
I say that the centre will pass to the east of the NI (all depressions generally have a tendancy to track in a SE direction despite what blocking that may occur) but the low will have a big impact on the NI weather.
Overcast and very windy here in ChCh today. Rained eased around midday. Barometer still dropping. It'll probably clear up later??

My 24 hour rain total is 71mm which is the most we have had since I got my rain gauge early last year. The barometer is dropping pretty quickly as well. If the cyclone doesn't score a hit on Auckland, it is still a nice rain event we are having anyway.

Its still"warm" for continual rain here(around 20) but the "westerly" of the tasman low should capture it and make it extra tropical tonight as it moves down the east coast

Yes, plenty of rain in Auckland. Around 70mm here in central AK last 24hrs. May well get another 70mm overnight. Rain is quite heavy here now.

but the rain is easing now, there is a clearance coming in from the west
but then the rain bands from ivy might give us rain tomorrow too
but i dont want any more rain, we have flooding here on the farm now!

still going sse to s from what i can see via latest sat image
heading for the coromandel me thinks
still going spirling rain bands
still looks awesome!
rain radar shows the far north getting rain as a result of Ivy

actualy, running a animation, its wobbling a bit
but maybe its heading for the bay of plenty more
strong winds in northland this atfernoon, 50 knots at waipu:

Its easterly here now Gale force in the gusts and eased off with the rain

I don't see this rainband currently over our region moving much overnight, hence more rain I think.

and, latest rain radar shows very heavy rain bands developing in ESE lines over the bay of islands and the colville channel/top of the coromandel:
the first of ivy's rain bands (from upper level cloud system)

new warning from the met service just issued:
AUCKLAND
In the 15 hours from 9pm Saturday to noon Sunday, expect a further
80-100mm in the ranges, and 60-80m elsewhere.

NORTHLAND
In the 12 hours from 9pm Saturday to 9am Sunday, expect another
120-150mm.Intensities reaching 25 to 35mm an hour overnight.

i already have 284mm for february!

In the last hour, the rain is getting heavy, and the wind is finally starting to pick up... I wonder if Hamilton will ever get a windy day.

Looks like more bad weather on the way... the high in the G.A. Bight will weaken just as it moves onto New Zealand, bringing more bad weather next weekend.

Since last night Mt Taranaki had 250mm recorded.

New Plymouth's rain today: 103mm

Strong winds and Heavy rain has arrived here but according to Met Service 10pm Radar I think it will be over soon.

We had that squally downpour here, lasted about 15minutes. 10-15mm would have fallen. Must have been an embedded cb. Back to moderate rain now.

I see the Pinnacles on the Coromandal have had 220mm last 24hrs.
Hunua about 130mm.
