Southland Weather Site - Worth a look

Unread post by jeffsweather »

Looking through Stuff tonight I found this story
The weather: it's all on screen near you
http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/southlandt ... 67,00.html

The site the story is about has quite a good weather section with radar and sate image anmations.

Conditions are reported in Milford Sound, Lumsden, Gore, Manapouri and Invercargill.

Have a look

Hey, great find Jeff! Finally a weather radar for the lower South! And it's great as it shows every 15 minutes and not like our every 3 hours for the other main centres around NZ.

There wasn't much to see yesterday but I see some rain to the south of Stewart Island on the Sun 7 Mar 10:30am image.

The window has to load all the images first then display them which takes a bit of time.

Do the Sat and isobar animations work?

They do. I use the situ map for my diary now if they are updated.
