It's a shame that the weather isn't cooperating :-(...

The last one of these I saw was back in the early 80's in Hawaii...I remember it VERY well.
As the moon rose over the horizon, it was MASSIVE...big as your fist (when you hold it up) in the sky, at least...then as it got dark, it went red, and then disappeared, came out from the umbra and then went all white again :-) VERY cool...just hope at least some people here in NZ can enjoy it!

Looking forward to any stories from tonight!

Cheers,
Glenn

EDIT: now 8 pm and it *looks* like it might be trying to clear up for CANTY for the show! :-) Here's hoping!

Had some heavy showers move over earlier... moon is bright and visible between the quick thin veils of low cloud. :)

Great view here, between those clouds (and the odd shower) there are decent clear patches, last one being about 20mins here.
Conditions seem to be improving :D

Luckily having some nice breaks in the sky here at the moment with some nice breif peaks at the moon.
Its about half way now or just past 8) looks even better under my wee telescope.
