No rain, but storms without much precipitation are considered more dangerous with more electricity inside the storm from what i know, NZstorm you can correct me if im wrong, but this is unusual seeing a storm come so close from th alps, very unstable out now.

Coming back from morris dancing practice this evening, seeing a lot of lightning flashing away to the west.
They must be having a hum-dinger of thunderstorms over there.
Driving west up Curraghs Rd, about 22:45pm, saw 3 CGs linked together by a cc stroke that lifted back up into the cloud.
This looking like a true, but somewhat extended fork
I hope someone is out there photographing the event.

I would say Thunder along the Canterbury Coast today however i see you have a dry NW blowing, dewpoints around 0C. ?

Abit late just some pics of the CU on Monday, did look interesting for awhile.
Still great to see developing CU, better than nothing.
