Typical Scenario in a westery flow, must be something to do with the sheltering of BP allowing some heating or an undercutting NE sea breeze on the E-SE side of BP.
I see abit of purple on the rain radar too from this shower, better go get a pic of it before it heads into Pegasus.

Was out and about today as well and saw the same...
So I got some pics of it, and noticed the back end of it had some Mammatus clouds? I am pretty sure they are, but someone may wish to clarify?

Yup thats the one, there mammatus alright, that mamma was over head at the time, looked cool. didn't expect any unstable air today, still is out there now!

Yes that was the one I seen, looked abit shafty as you can see in your photo's.
I didnt go out to get a nice open shot like yours.
So just a few from my backyard, it didnt quite achieve a merit for some storm chasing pictures in the open
.
I would imagine we will see a simular thing happen tomorrow, provided the Westerly isn't too strong.
Note that the humidity was only about 30% when these heavy showers or hail developed, just goes to show what can happen when we least expect it.
