Re: Fireworks Photography
Well, my fireworks photos are from the Woodford Glen speedway from last night...great time with my daughter and friends watching all the mayhem and smells on the speedway (mmmm...methanol fumes.....)
(Bummer was that near the end, there was one errant fw that exploded near the ground and injured a couple of the guys doing the show, but don't know how seriously...)
These pics are MUCH better in their full size, but had to crop them down to fit for here...Enjoy the pics!
(btw...all pics were taken with a Canon A560 in "fireworks" mode)

Re: Fireworks Photography
Wow they are really nice pictures gllitz !
It just goes to show I'm not too good at taking photos yet. My camera doesn't have an instant response so when I press the button it takes a second or two to take the pictures. I put the mode on 'burst' which is where is takes three quick pictures with one press of the button, but the best I got are nothing compared to yours gllitz!

Far out they are amazing. Well done.
I got a good free display on the drive from auckland to hamilton on friday night
. Coming down the bombays i could see fireworks and when i past the meremere drag way i stoped along with about 10 other cars to look at the fire works being let off after the drag races were finished.

I've posted this before but this is my shot from a few years back. I like it.

Re: Fireworks Photography
Up on the nearby hill I had an unspoilt view of about 130 degrees across Auckland to the horizons, of all the city lights.
An extraordinary view, however the pictures I took did not do the views justice at all (I have no tripod so lights are blurry and I tried many times for better pics but all the lights turn to squiggles, also my camera is not specialised for night images and so the quality is poor
)
The first one is of 2 red balls of light that sat high over the city hovering and gently drifting for 3 minutes before falling and buring out. Very interesting - have not seen this before.
The second one is the 'river of lights' (Pakuranga Highway), of course it looked much more fantastic with my eyes.
