Have been keeping an eye on the seabreeze's in CHCH,and they don't seem to be happining yet!!
Is this normal for this time of year or due to warmer sea temps are the seabreeze's less than normal, any info appreciated.
Also does anyone know where I can access historial data for sea temps in NZ

It depends where you are situated Jab, I noticed when working out at rolleston and Hallswel it was a fresh gusty NWer but back home here in Kaiapoi its a light onshore NE.
If you are inbetween the two winds there is likly to be bugger all until the ridging tighens up abit soon and the NWer kicks in everywhere.
Cheers
Jason.
Sure has been warmer temps this week! hardly any wind will push those temps up to boot, thats when a nice cool NE breeze is appreciated when working outside lol.
It was very windy from the NE on Tuesday the 4th December with Ne to East very strong in places, including the classic 'kink' feature to the SE of the city beyond the Port hills.
Yeah, it's been really windy here as well, actually wondering why his windrun isn't just a little higher, maybe it's just more open here...though just over 350 km now, still quite a lot.

Yes, well um.... you don't get the same sea-breeze effect in the winter time JohnGaul

I agree.. Personally mid-winter NW or frosty days here seem warmer than summer ones due to the lack of wind chill! Makes frosts worth it (if it stays sunny after, if it craps out, it's damn annoying!)
