Greetings and Happy New Year
Would anyone know of a New Zealand RSS feed or script for severe weather warnings that can be incorporated into a website?

i think that because the met serive has advertising on their web site, they might frown at people making it so people do not have to visit their web site to get info?
but then again the severe warnings are paid by us, the tax payer....

I was afraid of that. A number of countries, e.g. UK, Australia, USA, etc, make it relatively easy for people to incorporate such things on their own site. Here, in NZ, it doesn't seem to be possible from what I've seen.

Re: Severe Weather Warning Script
yea its possible. i wrote something similar in vbscript to get data from metservice and display it on my desktop via litestep.
chances are you would have to write it yourself.
what server scripting language does your server use? if its php, i can most certainly help.
while i will be too busy to write the whole thing (im a web developer), i can help if you get stuck.

Someone has set one up here: http://nzmetservice.blogspot.com/
But it seems that subscribed email address is now the subject of spam.
I'm not sure why the MetService aren't embracing RSS feeds.

It is a pity about that as it could have been good to include in a website. About the only way I can think of doing it (being technically challenged) is to do it manually... which would be work intensive.Foggy wrote:Someone has set one up here: http://nzmetservice.blogspot.com/
