How emabarrasing for Karen Olsen tonight when the weather graphics broke down.
I wonder how Kay Gregory would of dealt with the same scenario?
The new guy on TV 3 sounded a bit out of the picture, very much as if he was reading the forecast for Auckland from thre middle of the local community hall in South Springston, near Lincoln !!!

You could tell that Karen had a story planned along the lines of the grahics performing.
Despite many pushes of the 'phaser' in her hand, things weren't working despite pleas to the control room.
I wonder when the new TV3 weather comes on line?
Every Sunday or Monday. I expect the new format to come online ( I thought it was going to happen with the new male presenter making his debut last WE!!! ) .. but then my heart sinks when it is still the current TV3 weather format...
must go, there is a lightning doc on NATIONAL gEOGRAPHIC at the moment
Sky TV does have a weather channel, but it's very basic. Showing what you'd expect to see from stingy MetService... Sat Map, Synopsis & Prognostic charts, radars (15 min updates!), Marine, town forecasts (2 days) However it does show observations (wind, temp and rain rate)
I enjoyed the Lighning Programme on National Geographic last night.
Did anyone else see it?
I suppose it will be repeated.
I'm not to sure about CTV. I think they have a basic weather forecast, I don't know who supplies the information?

I saw like half of it on National Geographic. It wasnt very interesting, just showing people's accounts. The quality of the documentaries on Nat. Geog. and Discovery don't have enough quality in them.
MetService gave us a good forecast today, which is unsual. (Wind speed forecast is always wrong)
