Re: Snow in Baghdad!
Apparently Baghdad's January mean temp is only about 9.5C, so one can imagine it getting cold enough to generate snow in (rarely!) suitable conditions. July mean is about 35C!

But that average would most probably be from cold desert nights under clear skies. Days would normally still by quite warm.Apparently Baghdad's January mean temp is only about 9.5C, so one can imagine it getting cold enough to generate snow in (rarely!) suitable conditions. July mean is about 35C!

Apparently, there's been alot of stormy weather in the Middle East lately - flooding rains in Dubai, heavy snow in Iran (40cm in Teheran), and freezing temps in Saudi. Riyadh was only 5C when Bush landed there - same as Washington DC at the same time!

But I suspect (don't have proof, but hey) this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened?tich wrote:Apparently, there's been alot of stormy weather in the Middle East lately - flooding rains in Dubai, heavy snow in Iran (40cm in Teheran), and freezing temps in Saudi.
